What Jamia Hafs is
- Jamia Hafs is an online Qur'an and Islamic education institute, at jamiahafs.com.
- All classes are taught live online and never pre-recorded. Courses run five days a week, and Hifz and Qur’an reading for sisters are taught one-to-one at flexible times.
- Courses are currently for students in India.
- Classes are taught in Urdu and Hindi; the Qur’anic text itself is in Arabic.
- Monthly fees: ₹500 for Basic and Advanced Tajweed, ₹700 for Maktab and ₹800 for Hifz. No registration fee, no contract. Fees and plans

Our name
The name Hafs comes from Riwayat Hafs 'an 'Asim: the narration of the Qur'an transmitted by Imam Hafs (90–180 AH) from his teacher Imam 'Asim, and recited by most of the Muslim world today. Our teachers hold their Ijazah in this narration. Who was Imam Hafs?
Our teachers
- Lead teacher: Mufti Ataul Rehman, Aalim, Hafiz, Qari and Mufti, formally qualified from recognised institutions.
- He holds Ijazah and Sanad in Riwayat Hafs, a documented chain of teachers reaching back to the Prophet ﷺ. See our Sanad.
- He continues a family teaching tradition of more than 50 years, in which more than 1,000 students have been taught.
- Male and female teachers are available, so sisters and daughters can study with a female teacher.
