About this programme

Read the Qur'an correctly — finally

Many adults can read the Qur'an fluently but have never properly learned the rules of Tajweed. This basic Tajweed course online is designed specifically for them. If you can already read the Qur'an, this one-year programme will take you from simply reading to reciting correctly.

In live sessions held five times a week, your qualified teacher teaches the rules of Tajweed in a clear, structured and patient way. You will learn not just what the rules are but how to apply them naturally as you read.

We have both male and female teachers, so sisters can learn Tajweed with a female teacher throughout the programme. Teaching is in Urdu and Hindi.

This is not a course about memorising rules on paper. It is about developing a real, practical skill — the ability to open any page of the Qur'an and recite it correctly.

Is this programme right for you?

  • You are 15 years or older
  • You can already read the Qur'an fluently
  • You have never formally studied Tajweed rules
  • You want to read the Qur'an with correct pronunciation
  • You are a sister who would prefer a female teacher
  • You are ready to commit to a structured one-year programme

How classes work

What to expect every week

01

Live online session

Classes are held live, five days a week. You join your qualified teacher directly for a real, interactive class — not a recording.

02

Rule introduction

Each session introduces or deepens a specific Tajweed rule. The teacher explains clearly and demonstrates the correct pronunciation with examples.

03

Recitation practice

You recite aloud and the teacher provides immediate feedback. This is the most effective way to develop correct pronunciation — practice with guidance.

04

Progress tracking

Your teacher monitors your progress and keeps you regularly updated. You always know exactly where you are and what comes next.

What you will achieve

01

Questions

Frequently asked about this course

Do I need to know Arabic before joining?
You do not need to know the Arabic language. What you do need is to be able to read the Qur'an fluently — that is the one requirement for this course. If you cannot yet read the Qur'an fluently, please get in touch and we will point you to the right starting course.
Is there a female teacher for sisters?
Yes. We have both male and female teachers, and sisters can study the full Basic Tajweed programme with a female teacher. Please mention this when you book your trial class and we will arrange it.
I have been reading Qur'an for years — will this still help me?
Absolutely. Many adults have been reading the Qur'an for years without formally learning Tajweed. This programme will identify and correct any mistakes in your recitation and give you a thorough grounding in all the rules.
How much does the course cost?
Full fees for the Basic Tajweed programme are listed on our fees and plans page . There is no registration fee and no cancellation fee, and the first trial class is always free.
Can Tajweed really be learned online?
Yes, provided the classes are live rather than pre-recorded. Tajweed is learned by reciting aloud and being corrected — which is exactly how every session here works. Your teacher hears you recite and corrects pronunciation immediately, the same way it has been taught traditionally.
How many classes are there each week?
Classes are held five days a week. This consistent schedule ensures real, measurable progress in your Tajweed.
What language are the classes taught in?
Classes are taught in Urdu and Hindi. The Qur'anic text is of course in Arabic, and the teacher explains the rules and pronunciation in Urdu and Hindi.
Who can enrol in this course?
The Basic Tajweed programme is currently offered to students in India, aged 15 and above. Class timings follow Indian Standard Time, and our team will help you find a slot that suits you when you book a trial class.
What do I need to join a class?
A phone, tablet or laptop with an internet connection, and a copy of the Qur'an. We send the class link before each session, so there is nothing complicated to set up.
How long does this course take to complete?
The Basic Tajweed programme is a one-year course. Attending consistently is what gets you through it in the year, and your teacher will guide you at every stage. For a fuller answer, see our guide How long does it take to learn Tajweed?
What comes after this course?
On successful completion you receive your Sanad in Riwayat Hafs. Graduates can then progress to Advanced Tajweed, which leads to a formal Ijazah. You can see everything we offer on our courses page .
Can I cancel if I need to?
Yes — cancel anytime with no questions asked and no cancellation fee. There is no long-term contract.
