About this programme

Become a Hafiz — carry the entire Qur'an in your heart

To memorise the entire Qur'an is one of the greatest honours a Muslim can achieve in this life. A Hafiz carries the complete word of Allah in their heart. It is a lifelong gift and one of the highest stations in Islam.

Our online Hifz classes are designed to make this journey achievable for serious students — children from the age of 8, and adults of any age. Classes are live and one-to-one, five times a week at a time that suits you, with your qualified teacher guiding every step of the memorisation with proper Tajweed throughout.

One requirement matters before starting: the student should already be able to read the Qur'an fluently. Memorisation builds on reading, and beginning Hifz without fluent reading makes the journey far harder than it needs to be.

There is no rush. Every student progresses at their own pace. What matters is that every verse memorised is memorised correctly — with proper pronunciation, correct Tajweed and strong retention through regular revision.

Is this programme right for you?

  • You want to memorise the complete Qur'an
  • You can already read the Qur'an fluently
  • You are 8 years or older — children and adults both welcome
  • You are committed to consistent daily sessions
  • You want proper guidance — not self-memorisation
  • Parents want regular updates on their child's progress

This may not be suitable if:

  • The student cannot yet read the Qur'an fluently — please explore our other courses first
  • You are looking for a short, fixed-length course

How it works

The Hifz journey — step by step

Memorisation is a skill that develops through consistent practice. Here is how the programme works.

01

New Lesson (Sabaq)

  • Each class begins with new verses to be memorised
  • The teacher recites the verses correctly first
  • The student repeats and memorises with guidance
  • Correct Tajweed is maintained throughout
  • Amount of new verses depends on student's ability
02

Recent Revision (Sabaqi)

  • Revision of recently memorised verses
  • Ensures fresh memorisation is solidified
  • Teacher listens and corrects any errors
  • Building confidence and fluency
  • Identifying weak areas for extra practice
03

Old Revision (Daur)

  • Regular revision of older memorised portions
  • Prevents forgetting what has been memorised
  • Building towards reciting the full Qur'an from memory
  • Systematic coverage of all completed portions
  • The most important part of long-term retention
04

Parent Updates & Progress

  • Regular progress updates
  • Parents always welcome to observe sessions
  • Regular progress assessments
  • Home practice guidance provided
  • Certificate issued on full completion

What to expect

Your weekly schedule

01

Daily one-to-one session

A live one-to-one class with your teacher, five days a week, at a time that suits you. Consistency is the single most important factor in successful Hifz.

02

New + revision

Every session balances new memorisation with revision of recent and older portions — the three-part system that Hifz teachers have used for centuries.

03

Home practice

Between sessions, students practise their new lesson and revision portions at home. The teacher provides guidance on how to practise effectively.

04

Parent involvement

Parents receive regular progress updates and are welcome to observe. Family support is one of the biggest factors in a child's Hifz success.

Hifz is taught by teachers who hold a formal Ijazah and Sanad in Riwayat Hafs, within a family teaching lineage spanning more than 50 years. That matters for memorisation specifically: every verse a student commits to memory is heard and corrected by a teacher whose own recitation has been certified. We have both male and female teachers, so sisters and daughters can study with a female teacher throughout. Teaching is in Urdu and Hindi.

Questions

Frequently asked about this course

How long does it take to become a Hafiz?
It depends entirely on the student — their age, consistency, ability and how much home practice they do. Children who attend consistently typically complete Hifz in 3 to 5 years. Adults may take longer. The teacher will guide you throughout and there is no pressure to rush.
What age can a student start Hifz?
From 8 years old. There is no upper age limit — adults are welcome and many begin Hifz later in life. What matters more than age is the ability to read the Qur'an fluently and the consistency to attend regularly.
Does the student need to read the Qur'an before starting?
Yes. Fluent Qur'an reading is the one requirement for this programme. Memorisation builds directly on reading, so starting Hifz without it makes the journey much harder. If the student cannot yet read fluently, please get in touch and we will point you to the right starting course.
Is there a female teacher for sisters and daughters?
Yes. We have both male and female teachers, and female students can complete the entire Hifz programme with a female teacher. Please mention this when you book your trial class and we will arrange it.
Can adults memorise the full Qur'an?
Absolutely. While children generally memorise faster, adults can and do complete Hifz. It requires more dedication and patience, but many adults have become Hafiz later in life. The teacher will work at a pace that suits you.
Can Hifz really be done online?
Yes, provided the classes are live. Hifz works by reciting from memory to a teacher who listens and corrects — which is exactly what happens in every session here. The student recites, the teacher hears every verse and corrects immediately, the same way Hifz has always been taught.
How much home practice is needed?
Daily home practice is essential for Hifz. Even 20 to 30 minutes of focused revision per day outside of class makes a significant difference to retention and progress.
How much does the programme cost?
Full fees for the Hifz programme are listed on our fees and plans page . There is no registration fee and no cancellation fee, and the first trial class is always free.
What language are the classes taught in?
Classes are taught in Urdu and Hindi. The Qur'anic text is of course in Arabic, and the teacher explains and corrects in Urdu and Hindi.
Who can enrol in this programme?
The Hifz programme is currently offered to students in India, aged 8 and above. Class timings follow Indian Standard Time, and our team will help you find a slot that suits your family when you book a trial class.
What do we need to join a class?
A phone, tablet or laptop with an internet connection, and a copy of the Qur'an. We send the class link before each session, so there is nothing complicated to set up.
Will I get a certificate when I finish?
Yes — on successful completion of the full Qur'an memorisation, a certificate is issued recognising you as a Hafiz of the Holy Qur'an.
