Hifz Online

Memorise the Qur'an by heart and become a Hafiz or Hafiza, in live one-to-one classes with flexible timing. Choose the full Qur'an, or a one-year Selected Surahs course. Taught in Urdu and Hindi by teachers from a 50+ year lineage.

What is Hifz?

Hifz (حفظ) means memorising the Qur'an by heart. Someone who has memorised all 30 juz is called a Hafiz, or a Hafiza for a woman. It is one of the most honoured achievements in a Muslim's life.

At Jamia Hafs, Hifz is taught live online and one-to-one, so the teacher listens to every verse you recite, corrects mistakes as they happen, and sets your next lesson and revision at a pace that suits you.

Two Hifz courses

  • Hifz — Full Qur'an (₹800/month): the complete Qur'an, memorised in order, on the path to becoming a Hafiz or Hafiza. For students aged 8 and above who can already read the Qur'an fluently.
  • Hifz — Selected Surahs (₹800/month): a one-year course memorising chosen surahs, for those who want a focused goal rather than the full Qur'an.

How the classes work

  • One-to-one: every Hifz student has the teacher's full attention for the whole class.
  • Flexible timing: choose a class time that fits around school, work or home.
  • Live online, Monday to Friday.
  • Urdu and Hindi are the teaching languages.
  • Regular progress updates so you or your family always know where things stand.

Before you start

Full Hifz needs fluent Qur'an reading first, so that every verse is memorised correctly from the start. If your reading isn't fluent yet, begin with Learn Qur'an Online or Basic Tajweed and move into Hifz after that. Full Hifz is currently offered to students in India.

The teachers

Jamia Hafs is led by Mufti Ataul Rehman, who holds the Ijazah with Sanad in Riwayat Hafs, an unbroken chain of 43 links back to the Prophet ﷺ. Read about our Sanad and who Imam Hafs was.
