When to say it
On Friday, from Maghrib on Thursday evening until Maghrib on Friday.
Good to know
- There is no special Friday greeting in the Sunnah. Wishing someone "Jumu'ah Mubarak" is a kind word, but do not treat it as a Sunnah or an obligation.
- Forwarded messages that promise reward for sharing them, or punishment for not sharing, are not from the Sunnah.
- What the Sunnah does teach for Friday: ghusl, clean clothes and perfume, going early to Jumu'ah, reading Surah al-Kahf, much durood, and making dua in the last hour before Maghrib.
- Durood Ibrahim, the durood of salah, is the best form to send.
