The Prophet ﷺ said that the best day on which the sun rises is Friday (Sahih Muslim 854). Jumu'ah is fard for every adult Muslim man, and the day comes with sunnahs that are easy to forget in a busy week: the ghusl, clean clothes and perfume, Surah al-Kahf, plenty of salawat, going early, listening in silence, and the hour of du'a before Maghrib.

This checklist puts all nine on one page with their references, so you can tick them off every Friday of the month. The second page walks through the whole day in order, from Thursday sunset to Friday sunset.

How to use it well

Prepare
Ghusl, clean clothes, miswak and perfume (Sahih al-Bukhari 877, 880).

Recite
Surah al-Kahf and plenty of salawat on the Prophet ﷺ (Sunan Abi Dawud 1047).

Go early
Walk if you can, sit near the imam and listen in silence (Sahih al-Bukhari 881, 934).

Leave business
Stop buying and selling when the adhan is called (Surah al-Jumu'ah 62:9).

Pray
The sunnah after Jumu'ah; in the Hanafi way, four rak'ahs before and four after (Sahih Muslim 881).

Make du'a
Look for the hour of acceptance in the last hour before Maghrib (Sunan Abi Dawud 1048).
