Building the habit of five daily prayers takes time, and children stay motivated when they can see their progress. This chart gives each day a row and each prayer a star, so a child colours in Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha as the day goes on.

Friday is marked for Jumu'ah, and the bottom of the sheet has a reward box that parents and children fill in together at the start of the week.

Because it covers one week, it can be printed fresh every Saturday or Sunday, which turns each new week into a new start.

Step by step

  1. 1
    Agree a reward

At the start of the week, write the reward in the box together.

  2. 2
    Pray, then colour

After each prayer, your child colours one star in that day's row.

  3. 3
    Celebrate Jumu'ah

Friday is marked, so make it a special day with a little extra praise.

  4. 4
    Count the stars

At the end of the week, count the stars together and give the reward.

  5. 5
    Print a fresh one

Start each new week with a clean chart.

How to use it

Print one chart a week on A4 or US Letter paper and stick it on the fridge or by the prayer mat, where your child will see it after every prayer.

Keep a set of coloured pencils next to it, so colouring the star becomes part of finishing the prayer.
