Dua for wearing new clothes

When you put on a new piece of clothing, or any clothing.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي كَسَانِي هَذَا الثَّوْبَ وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّي وَلاَ قُوَّةٍ

Al-ḥamdu lillāhil-ladhī kasānī hādhath-thawba wa razaqanīhi min ghayri ḥawlin minnī wa lā quwwah

All praise is for Allah, who clothed me with this garment and provided it for me without any power or strength from me.

When you put on a new piece of clothing, or any clothing.

Good to know

  • Put on clothes starting with the right side.
  • The hadith promises forgiveness of past sins for saying it.
