- 1Go back to what you were sure of
If you are sure you made wudu and then doubt whether you broke it, you still have wudu. If you are sure you broke it and doubt whether you made wudu again, you do not.
- 2Doubt during wudu
If you doubt whether you washed a part while still making wudu, and this does not usually happen to you, wash it. If such doubts come often, ignore them and carry on.
- 3Doubt after wudu
Once you have finished, ignore doubts about whether you washed a part properly.
- 4Know what really breaks wudu
In the Hanafi school wudu breaks with: anything coming out of the front or back passage, blood or pus that flows beyond the wound, vomiting a mouthful, sleeping lying down or leaning so that you would fall if the support were removed, fainting, and laughing aloud during salah.
- 5Do not chase waswasa
Constant doubts are from Shaytan. Make wudu once, properly, and move on. Giving in to them makes them stronger.
Step by step
What to do when you doubt your wudu
Certainty is not removed by doubt. Here is what that means in practice.
