What is an online madrasa?
An online madrasa teaches children the Qur’an and the basics of Islam through live classes over the internet, instead of at a local madrasa building. Your child learns with a real teacher, from home.
Is it madrasa, madarsa or maktab?
They mean the same thing. Madrasa, madarsa, madrasah and madressa are different spellings of the same word, and a maktab is the part of a madrasa where children learn to read the Qur’an. At Jamia Hafs, our Maktab course is that children’s programme.
What age can my child join?
Our Maktab course is for children aged 4 to 13.
What are the class timings?
Classes run Monday to Friday, with several batches every evening between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM India time. You choose the slot that suits your child.
Who teaches the children?
Maktab classes are taught by a female teacher. All our teachers are formally qualified from recognised institutions.
What language are classes taught in?
Lessons are explained in Urdu and Hindi.
How much does it cost?
Maktab is ₹700 per month. You can start with a free trial class before paying anything.
Can children outside India join?
Not at the moment. Our classes are currently open to students in India only.
