The Seerah is the life story of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and it is where children first learn who he was and why we love him. This storybook tells that story in thirteen short chapters, from his birth in Makkah to his beautiful manners in Madinah.

Each chapter has a full-page picture, a few simple lines of story, a "Did you know?" fact and a small activity to colour. The language is written for young readers, so it can be read aloud to a five-year-old or read alone by a nine-year-old.

The book tells the story without showing any people or faces. The pictures are of places: Makkah at night, the Cave of Hira, the road to Madinah and the Prophet's masjid.

How to use it well

  1. 1
    Read one chapter a night

Thirteen chapters make about two weeks of bedtime stories.

  2. 2
Ask the "Did you know?" first

Let your child guess the answer before you read the fact together.

  3. 3
    Colour the activity

Each chapter ends with a small task: colouring stars, hearts or water drops.

  4. 4
    Talk about the manners

Ask what the Prophet ﷺ did in that chapter, and how we can do the same.

  5. 5
    Read it again

Children love hearing favourite chapters again, like the Hijrah and the Cave of Hira.
