How to Pray Salah for Kids: A Free Illustrated Book
A bright, picture-by-picture Salah book that helps children learn every step of the prayer.
Updated 25 October 2026
Children learn best when they can see what to do. My Salah Book shows every position of the prayer with a colourful picture, from the first Allahu Akbar to the final salam and du'a.
Each page has simple steps your child can follow and the words to say, written in easy English letters. It follows the Hanafi way of praying, and ends with a weekly star chart so your child can colour a star every time they pray.
Step by step
- 1Before I pray
Make wudu, wear clean clothes, face the qiblah and check it is prayer time.
- 2Takbir
Lift your hands to your ears and say Allahu Akbar.
- 3Qiyam
Fold your hands below your tummy button and recite al-Fatihah and a surah.
- 4Ruku'
Bow down with your hands on your knees and your back flat.
- 5Qawmah
Stand up straight with your arms by your sides.
- 6Sajdah
Go down with your forehead and nose on the mat, twice, with a short sit in between.
- 7Tashahhud
Sit on your left foot and lift only your right pointing finger.
- 8Salam
Turn your head to the right, then to the left, and say the salam.
