Our story

Where Jamia Hafs began

Jamia Hafs was not built in a boardroom. It was built from a lifetime of service — beginning with a father who spent over 50 years teaching the Qur'an, quietly and sincerely, one student at a time.

Over those five decades, more than 1,000 students sat with him and learned to read, recite and understand the words of Allah. Many of those students went on to become teachers themselves. The knowledge did not stop with him — it multiplied.

Jamia Hafs was founded to carry that same spirit forward — taking the same authentic, qualified teaching that happened in person and making it available to Muslim families across the world through live online classes.

"We are not selling courses. We are continuing a tradition of knowledge that has been passed down, teacher to student, for over a thousand years."

Meet Mufti Ataul Rehman

Mufti Ataul Rehman is not a teacher who arrived at Islamic scholarship through a short course or a weekend programme. He was raised in it — as the son of an Aalim who spent over 50 years teaching the Qur'an to more than 1,000 students.

He went on to complete formal Islamic education at two institutions — Noorul Islam Daman and the Abdullah Ibn-e-Masood Academy — earning his qualifications with both Ijazah and Sanad in Riwayat Hafs. A Sanad is a verified chain of narration — a direct connection, teacher to teacher, all the way back to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Very few teachers in the world carry this qualification. Mufti Ataul Rehman is one of them — and through Jamia Hafs, he makes this level of teaching available to students around the world through live online classes.

His teaching style is patient, structured and deeply rooted in the classical tradition. Whether teaching a 5-year-old the Arabic alphabet or guiding an advanced student through the sciences of Qira'at — every student receives the same sincere, careful attention.

What we stand for

Our values

📜
Authenticity above all
We do not cut corners on qualifications. Every course is taught by a formally qualified Mufti with verified Ijazah and Sanad — not self-taught or informally trained.
❤️
Sincerity in teaching
Teaching is not just a transaction for us. It is a continuation of a tradition passed down through generations — done with care, patience and genuine love for the students.
🌍
Accessible to all
Quality Islamic education should not be limited to those who live near a good teacher. Through live online classes, any Muslim family anywhere in the world can access the same teaching.
👨‍👩‍👧
Family-centred
We work with the whole family — not just the student. Parents are always welcome to observe classes. Progress is shared regularly. You are never left wondering how your child is doing.
🔗
Connected to the chain
Our teacher holds a Sanad — a chain of narration connecting him, through verified scholars, directly back to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. That connection is what makes the knowledge authentic.
📈
Every student matters
We are not a large platform trying to enrol thousands. We teach small, focused classes so every student receives real attention, real feedback and real progress.
