A legacy of
authentic Islamic teaching
Rooted in a 50-year family tradition of Qur'anic scholarship. Brought online so that every Muslim family — wherever they are in the world — can access authentic, qualified Islamic education.
Where Jamia Hafs began
Jamia Hafs was not built in a boardroom. It was built from a lifetime of service — beginning with a father who spent over 50 years teaching the Qur'an, quietly and sincerely, one student at a time.
Over those five decades, more than 1,000 students sat with him and learned to read, recite and understand the words of Allah. Many of those students went on to become teachers themselves. The knowledge did not stop with him — it multiplied.
Jamia Hafs was founded to carry that same spirit forward — taking the same authentic, qualified teaching that happened in person and making it available to Muslim families across the world through live online classes.
At Jamia Hafs, we believe your Islamic education is only as good as the teacher delivering it. That is why every teacher who joins our platform must meet the same uncompromising standards — without exception.
Every Jamia Hafs teacher is formally qualified from a recognised Islamic institution. Every teacher holds Ijazah and Sanad — a verified, unbroken chain of narration reaching back to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Very few teachers in the world carry this qualification. At Jamia Hafs, it is the minimum requirement.
Our founding lead teacher, Mufti Ataul Rehman, set this standard from day one. Formally qualified from Noorul Islam Daman and the Abdullah Ibn-e-Masood Academy, with Ijazah and Sanad in Riwayat Hafs, his approach defines how every Jamia Hafs teacher is expected to teach — with patience, structure and deep roots in the classical tradition.
As Jamia Hafs grows, our team of teachers will grow too. But the standard never will. Whether a student joins us today or five years from now — they will be taught by a scholar of the same calibre. That is our promise to every family who trusts us with their education.
